Candlewick: A Free Zine

I wrote most of the material that eventually became this zine quite a while ago (for draft materials, see part one and part two). The contents are mostly short descriptions of creatures, locations, and a handful of factions. It’s less of an adventure and more of a setting zine for Game Masters to derive inspiration.

Once the zine reached its current form, I couldn’t decide what to do with it. The only section that remains incomplete is the map; it’s extremely barebones and doesn’t show the topography of the region described. Rather than letting the zine simply sit on my hard drive collecting virtual dust, I figured it’s best to release it to the public in its current state.

Re-reading it now, it’s clear that I probably went a little over-board with the references and homages. It still managed to make me chuckle in parts, which is a good sign that I still like what I wrote.

If you happen to find a use for anything contained in its pages, please leave a comment below.

Without any further ado, you can download the zine here (PDF, 1.7 MB).
